Love this thing — go and pick a few words that describe yourself and then ask your friends/etc to go describe you as well. Then find out how your self-image differs from the image you put across to others. So cool!
Feel free to go contribute to mine ;)

Needy.
I decided on my word - although those who know me may be surprised about my choice.
I’ve been described as intimidating, independent, strong.. but no matter how often I’m told as much, I still tend to think my ex was more correct in his assessment when he told me I was too needy. Too emotional. Was always trying to get “too close.” And he made no secret of how annoyed it...

The Glee Project has got me thinking..
What about me makes me feel most vulnerable — and how would I sum it up into one word? I’ve been sitting here thinking about it since the episode ended - so about 2 hours now - and I’m getting nowhere. Not because I don’t have insecurities. Oh no, that’s never been the issue. But I guess I figure there should be some sort of common thread throughout it all, some...

MY LIFE AS A MED STUDENT: what i learnt about... →
LOVE this. I was starting to worry I was the only med student who thought this way. ;)

I was at the bus stop today (cool story, bro) and this guy started talking to me, as you do when you’re a sociable fellow with half an hour to spare. He told me about his life, and hitchhiking, and travelling with monkeys in Southern Africa, and swapping booze and party drugs for...

“Lucky” by Alice Sebold.
It is so descriptive, it’s unpleasant. And yet I can’t put it down.

Day 2. June 14, 2011.
You know the way your dog excitedly wags his tail and jumps around the moment he sees you? I was as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as that dog.
Dr. P (not an adult diaper) was our prof in our Physio subject. She gave us some discussion about the way she runs things, how she…

Ok, so now for some constructive criticism..
First of all, no matter how logical the train of thought, once you start inserting curse words and multiple exclamation points/questions marks into your argument, people are going to stop taking you seriously. So even though many good points were made, I fear they were lost in the haze of what can seem like overreaction. (see the last few reblogs I made to see what I’m referring to).

Please stop talking about how “bad”, “wrong”, “dangerous” or “stupid” it is when people self-diagnose, especially in regard to mental illness.
Let’s go over the reasons this is fucked up, problematic and oppressive.

Reblogging a few "commentaries" in a minute..
about the psychiatry, its practice, and the importance of patient perception/risk of self-diagnosis. There’s an interesting discussion going on about the topic, and I wanted to share, simply to get people thinking about how they feel and where they stand.
As for me.. well, I’ll keep you posted as my own opinion develops more fully. ;)
