Morbidly fascinated with the knowledge of what I’m actually capable of. If I wasn’t so convinced that knowledge is preferable to ignorance, I might say I’d rather forgo the knowledge this time. Sometimes truth is painful.

Ready to forget I'm a med student for a little...
It’s a little funny that the part of this trip I’m most looking forward to is leaving my laptop behind. Taking myself off the grid for a weekend is exactly what I need to refresh before boards. And Allen’s helping me plot a way to keep my phone use to a minimum as well (while staying safe and not lost in a new city, that is). Now that’s what I call a good friend. :)

Ok, I need to spread the word about this great organization founded by one of my classmates. The Hope Movement sells tshirts (see below), and for each shirt sold, donates one mosquito net to a family in Africa. Insecticide treated nets are the most effective prevention for malaria — and since the antibiotics currently used to treat malaria are quickly becoming obsolete, prevention is key.
